The College of Fine and Applied Arts (FAA) is establishing The Dean’s Excellence Scholarship Fund to ensure that all bright and talented first-year students are able to enroll and thrive in the college’s undergraduate programs.

The With Illinois campaign generated significant increases in giving across the college that will provide support to our faculty, staff, and students. The College of Fine and Applied Arts is incredibly grateful for the contributions of our passionate supporters.

Gabe Tavas (FAA ’22), biodesigner, explorer, and social entrepreneur, was part of the first cohort of students graduating with their Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Design from the College of Fine and Applied Arts.

What becomes of arts alumni? That is the question that ultimately launched the Strategic National Arts Alumni Project (SNAAP), an ongoing research enterprise that collects, analyzes, and reports on survey data from arts and design graduates from across the United States.

Each year the College of Fine and Applied Arts honors both past legacies and emerging voices in the arts by recognizing our alumni and friends who have impacted their fields in transformative ways.

The faculty at FAA are dedicated to the advancement, practice, and understanding of the arts. Their central focus is the synergy among research, public engagement, and the preparation of students for lives in the environmental, visual, and performing arts. We’ve compiled some of their recent awards and accomplishments in research.

The College of Fine and Applied Arts boasts over 35,000 living alumni. Every day our graduates advance the design, visual, performing, and environmental arts as problem solvers and explorers. We’ve showcased a few this year for their notable accomplishments.

The College Excellence Awards recognize faculty and staff who have demonstrated excellence and have made a positive impact on our college, students, units, and community. The recipients are selected by the FAA Executive Committee.

Students across the UIUC campus had the opportunity to register for a new FAA course this fall titled Black Arts Today.
